🚨Shootout Breaks Out After Robbery Suspect Pulls Gun On LA County Deputies

Lancaster, California — On June 7, 2025, at 7:07 p.m., Los Angeles County Deputies responded to an armed robbery call in the 1200 block of Meadow View Circle in Lancaster. The caller described a male Hispanic adult wearing a black shirt and jeans who robbed the victim at gunpoint and fled the scene on foot, heading eastbound. A deputy searching the area for the robbery suspect observed a male, later identified as 31-year-old Erick Berrios, matching the suspect’s description in the 1000 block of West Avenue J-12. Believing Berrios was involved in the robbery, the deputy detained Berrios at gunpoint and requested additional units to respond to his location. As deputies attempted to detain Berrios, he physically resisted and was taken to the ground.

Deputies gave Berrios commands to stop resisting, but he refused to comply and armed himself with a handgun. Deputies became aware that Berrios was armed with a gun. A deputy fired a TASER at Berrios as Berrios simultaneously fired his pistol, striking a deputy, at which time a deputy-involved shooting occurred. Deputies rendered medical aid to Berrios pending the arrival of Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. Berrios was pronounced dead at the scene. One deputy was transported to a local hospital via ambulance and admitted for treatment of a gunshot wound to his lower torso. He was listed in “critical but stable” condition,” according to the department. No other deputies or persons were injured during the incident. A loaded 9mm semiautomatic ghost gun was recovered at the scene.
